Look at life through the prism of fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier: If you’ve always wanted it to be like this, you should keep mid-July free. Because Gaultier’s “Fashion Freak Show” will be the guest of honor at Vienna’s Stadthalle F from July 10 to 14, 2024. In a colorful and energetic mix of revue and fashion show, the industry’s “Enfant Terrible” will present 50 years of quintessence. Of fashion, underground and pop culture, it said in a statement.
What is promised is “a glimpse behind the curtain of her world full of excess, poetry and magic”. The show, which can be seen for the first time in Austria, is designed as a spectacular party, at which actors, dancers and circus artists will showcase their skills. They will wear hundreds of new costumes designed especially for them by Jean Paul Gaultier. But the 71-year-old Frenchman’s most famous works will also be on display. The event is musical with hit songs from the fields of disco, funk, pop, rock, new wave and punk, which inspired the designer.
Jean Paul Gaultier was also responsible as producer, writer, director and costume designer. He was supported by director Tony Marshall and choreographer Marion Motin. “Fashion Freak Show” celebrated its premiere in Paris in 2019.
