Perhaps the self-righteous climate activists couldn’t follow the crying mother intellectually, but their hearts weren’t enough either. A desperate woman and her child can go no further as she, like thousands of others, is stuck with her car in an artificial traffic jam of climate chaos on the A2 in Vienna on Monday morning. The mother cries bitterly, literally begging the superglues of the “last generation”: “Please let us go on, please,” she screams several times: “This is very important for him!”
And blockers? He has no interest, no feelings, the main thing is to riot. Short answer: “The climate disaster affects us now and it affects your son too.”
When the mom calms down, she says something that chaos people should probably keep in mind: “Well, you know…it’s collateral damage…it’s been collateral damage over the years.. .And it affects people.” What he meant was the porcelain that self-proclaimed climate defenders are willingly breaking, even among a population that is open on the subject. The senselessness of these actions, which hardly anyone understands, even with the greatest altruism.
It is said that the workers specifically discussed whether they should let the mother and her boy go. He deliberately decided against it. Disaster is coming closer and no one knows how to draw attention to it. Activists were quoted on a private broadcaster as saying that all previous forms of protest had failed and the seriousness of the situation was not recognised.
With all due respect: this has nothing to do with “the previous generation” – it was absolutely the last thing.
