The brand has denied the allegations. The former husband of American pop star Katy Perry began his career as a comedian in the early 2000s. Between 2006 and 2013, when he was accused of the crimes, he appeared in several Hollywood films.
Now according to media reports, the London Police has questioned the actor about allegations of sexual violence against several women. The inquiry was into three matters that were said to have occurred in the same years, as reported by the British newspaper “The Times”.
The Times, The Sunday Times and Channel 4 published a joint investigation into allegations of sexual violence made by Brand in September. Four women accused Mime of rape, abuse or exploitation between 2006 and 2013.
Police have received more information about sexual crimes against the actor and have started investigation against the 48-year-old actor. Brand’s former employers the BBC and Channel 4, as well as a production company, also announced an investigation.
