EU taxpayers have lost 125 million euros every day since the beginning of the Russian attack on Ukraine, 5.21 million euros every hour of brutal conflict, 86,805 euros every minute (all figures rounded, all data from “The Ukraine Support Tracker, From Kiel): The EU has already transferred 82.44 billion euros to Kiev, and the United States has also sent 66.87 billion euros according to these figures – other sources even give a figure of 100 billion euros.
The United States accounts for the largest share of financial support for Ukraine’s military spending: 40.31 euros out of 66.87 billion euros spent on weapon systems, ammunition, and payments. In percentage terms, Germany uses most of its aid payments for the Ukrainian armed forces: of the 20.15 billion euros paid so far from Berlin, 16.49 billion has been used for military purposes (see chart for all data ).
Neutral Austria is also making a huge contribution to supporting Ukraine: according to “The Ukraine Support Tracker”, the current supply of refugees from Ukraine has cost the Austrians more than 1.15 billion euros. This monthly average is 52.3 million euros.
In addition, the federal government in Vienna decided to hold Ukraine liable for EU debt amounting to 102 million euros. And 124 million euros have so far flowed into Kyiv from various ministries (by February 2023).
Poland is raising the largest amount of money to care for Ukrainian refugees: 15.41 billion euros. Germany is in second place with 13.9 billion euros. Switzerland also documented a cost of 1.5 billion euros for accepting Ukrainians.
