Vienna shines again in Christmas splendor: Mayor Michael Ludwig (SPO) and President of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce switched on the Christmas lights on the Graben in the city center on Thursday afternoon. This means that the city’s 32 shopping areas, 14 of which are in the First District, will once again be lit up for Christmas. Speaking of which: the trench shines with new lighting motifs that use low-carbon aluminum for the first time in the world.
The Christmas lights remain on until midnight every day, according to the Vienna Chamber of Commerce in a press release. This means that only electricity from renewable energy sources flows into the lamp.
