The owner of the apartment (53 years old) had already given accommodation to the person from 13 to 14 November. On Tuesday evening he wanted to see that everything was going well. But the door was open and the key was inside. Despite knocking and calling, the 46-year-old man did not respond.
At 11:45 pm, the concerned homeowner alerted the police, who initially assumed it was an accident. The fire department had to open the door and what they found was shocking: a 46-year-old man lying lifeless on the bed.
An autopsy was ordered. According to police spokeswoman Barbara Gass, foul play cannot be ruled out. The State Criminal Police Office is investigating. The door to the apartment showed no signs of being broken into and the apartment owner was not suspected.
