If you want unlimited access to profil.at, you will need a digital subscription for 10.90 euros. Free access to online content will end Friday, November 17. It is reported by daily newspaper Standard and industry magazine Horizont.
“Profile Plus” is the name of the subscription that gives readers access to all of the stories in the print edition, as well as additional online content. A separate team of six people will be responsible for digital content.
Additionally, the print edition will now appear on Saturdays and not Sundays, as was the case earlier. The e-paper will be available to customers from Friday afternoon. Profile editor-in-chief Anna Thalhammer says journalism needs to be “led into a new era”, and “there is still much to do.” The entire media industry is under immense pressure at the moment. There will be job cuts everywhere.
According to Austrian Web Analytics (ÖWA), profil.at had 336,191 unique users and 645,674 visits in September.
