Christian Stocker (60) has described the Red demands for wealth and inheritance taxes as a “communist manifesto” and a “populist dream”. He accused the SPO of having “little understanding of sustainable budget policy”.
“Already under the former SPO Chancellorship, Austria’s national debt has become detrimental to future generations. Bablar’s communist manifesto wants to continue this irresponsible budget policy,” said ÖVP General Secretary. On the other hand, the People’s Party stands firmly against such “downward-looking” policies and will not allow Austria to fall into financial difficulties.
Stocker insists: “With its populist demands, the SPO has lost all connection with reality. We can only hope that the sensible forces in the SPO will soon wake up from this socialist nightmare and bring the SPO back to reason.
