Two people are in custody after a firework explosion during a German Bundesliga game between FC Augsburg and TSG Hoffenheim. As police announced on Monday, an investigating judge issued an arrest warrant and is enforcing it.
They are two men aged 28 years. According to current police information, the number of people injured due to thrown firecrackers has increased to thirteen.
There are many children and youth among them. The firecracker was thrown from the “area of the visitors’ block” and exploded near the corner flag during Saturday’s 1-1 draw. Two men, identified through video images during the game, were arrested. The incident in the 57th minute caused referee Felix Brich to interrupt the game for approximately five minutes.
