Braverman called the pro-Palestinian demonstration a “hate march” and described the participants as a “mob.” The statements were too violent for many immigrants, woke activists and Israel haters: Prime Minister Rishi Sunak came under pressure to fire the Home Secretary.
Among other things, he accused the police of being blind in the left eye and tolerating violations of the law by pro-Palestinian protesters. In early November, Braverman agreed a stronger security partnership with Austria in a meeting with Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP) in Vienna.
