Around 600 delegates and around 400 guests are expected at the Graz trade fair. The leadership of the Burgenland state party, which has apologized for commitments on the state holiday, will be missing. The party conference will end on Sunday with, among other things, voting on candidate lists for the EU elections. But it will also be about who actually owns fertility.
Inflation, price rises, terror and war, asylum storm in Europe. These are the major political areas of our times. Topics that can only be partially found in the application booklet for the SPO federal party conference. In terms of content, twelve major proposals will be debated and voted on. The issue that first attracted the most attention was making tackling inflation a constitutional provision. Reduction in working hours is necessary only as a pilot project. The new law, about which the Viennese party is particularly skeptical, provides for a runoff election for the party leadership in the future if more than one person applies.
But the comrades will also take care of other issues in Graz. The topic “fighting back pain” or the already mentioned question about fertility also got the attention of the delegates.
Meanwhile, there was red alert in the SPO even before the party conference: only 20 percent of Austrians believed the Social Democrats under federal party leader Andreas Babler would come in first place in the upcoming National Council election. This comes from an existing survey reported by eXXpress.
