Czech President Petr Pavel says the current situation at the front does not indicate that Ukraine can still gain military advantages. Time is working in favor of Russia, which has a strong mobilization base for its armed forces, comments General A. D. of the Czech Army, who was Chief of the General Staff until 2015 and then Chairman of the NATO Military Committee until 2018. He hopes that talks will start soon.
Pavel underlines: “Negotiations can begin next year, as developments do not indicate that the Ukrainian side will gain military advantages. “Time is now working in Russia’s favor.” By gaining time, Moscow “will also be able to increase the equipment it has long lacked. We see massive shipments from North Korea, we see efforts to circumvent sanctions.
According to the Czech President, one thing is clear: Russia is trying to prolong the conflict. Powell believes that the Kremlin will also be waiting for the results of the US presidential elections to be held next year.
At the same time, the President of the Czech Republic is convinced that the West should continue supporting Ukraine. “The situation is not entirely positive. The positive thing that should happen for Ukraine is that we should be on their side and support them in achieving their goals. “For our part, we have no choice but to continue our support.”
