Self-proclaimed climate activists from the organization “Extinction Rebellion” painted several reservoirs in Switzerland and France green over the weekend as part of climate demonstrations. They wanted to point out the danger of toxic waste – but now the action has resulted in the death of many fish, as the mayor of the French city of Colmar wrote on Facebook.
“The perpetrator of the crime was identified by the Green Brigade (Environmental Crime Unit). We are continuing to pursue this individual,” Eric Strauman said.
He also posts a photo of the alleged evidence and makes a connection between pollution caused by dead animals and the “ecology movement”. “Extinction Rebellion France” and “Extinction Rebellion Strasbourg” have not yet commented on the allegations.
