The famous aerobatic team of the Italian Air Force was practicing near Turin for a planned event. But during the take-off phase, one MB-339 machine overturned. The pilot ran away with the ejection seat and the fighter jet exploded. Pieces of debris flew in the air.
Several of them hit the car of a young family. The parents had come with their two children to watch the flight squadron training. A glowing part of the exploded machine hits the vehicle and little Laura inside.
The girl died, her elder brother Andrea (12) suffered fatal burns. Doctors are still fighting for his life in the intensive care unit. The mother was also seriously injured, the father survived with minor injuries: “What did I do wrong, what could I have changed?” he asked desperately.
Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has also expressed her condolences to the bereaved family.
