Austria met two strong teams with Klagenfurt and LASK. The Carinthians are still unbeaten after six games. Linz, on the other hand, won 2–0 against Austria Lustenau before the international break. Both teams showed fast pace from the beginning. However, many balls were lost in the early stages. The first goal in this game came in the 36th minute. Zulz fed Horvath, who in turn set up Ljubicic with a cross pass. The striker was able to put the ball into the goal from close range.
But the Upper Austrians weren’t nearly enough and added more with Florian Flicker in the 40th minute. Again it was Zulz who was able to initiate the attack. The LASK captain gave a through pass to Flicker, who was able to make it 2–0 without any problems. However, Thomas Sejder’s team still did not have enough. After a bad pass from Irving, Havel got the ball. He beat Myhrer and pushed the ball to Menzel.
Austria Klagenfurt woke up after the break. After 56 minutes the Pacalt team was rewarded with a goal. Bonah fired into the near corner from point-blank range. This means that LASK’s dress rehearsal for Thursday’s Europa League duel against Liverpool FC was successful.
