Compliance with climate targets, the role of e-mobility and the importance of innovation and digitalization in Europe were enthusiastically discussed in front of approximately 500 invited guests. The inspiration for this were two exciting keynote speeches by futurologist Mathias Horkes and Oliver Blume, CEO of VW AG and Porsche AG.
Internationally renowned futurologist Matthias Horkes outlined a picture of a CO2-neutral future with e-mobility as an integral part as well as a rapidly increasing share of renewable energy sources worldwide, especially solar technology. Regarding progress in the field of mobility and energy transition, Horrocks said that “we are already further ahead than we think”.
In the panel discussion, participants agreed that e-mobility plays an important role in climate neutrality and climate goals. Political will and investment in charging infrastructure and renewable energy are vital.
Electromobility is becoming increasingly popular in Austria, with around 31,000 new registrations in the first eight months of the year. This corresponds to a market share of 18.8 percent. The Vienna Electric Days at RathausPlatz offers information on electric vehicles and innovative charging solutions as well as a sustainable lifestyle.
