Current statements by Major General Dr. Christian Freuding, head of the Bundeswehr’s Ukraine Situation Center and former aide to current EU Commission head Ursula von der Leyen, assure Ukrainians that further aid payments and arms deliveries will come – but that they will come soon after the crisis. It also destroys all hopes of an end. Major General Dr. Freuding literally means: “In Germany has pledged military support to our Ukrainian friends in Parliament until 2032. We are ready to provide long term support. “And we are ready to make time our ally – not make time Putin’s ally.”
Freyding was an aide to Ursula von der Leyen when she was defense minister in Germany, the current head of the EU Commission. During the debate in Ukraine, the major general also said: Support for Ukraine must work even better in the future – we must “coordinate even better” and accelerate aid payments until victory is achieved.
Asked when and how Ukraine’s victory would become apparent, the Major General said: This will be achieved when the territory of Ukraine is restored to the 1991 borders. President Zelensky has already said: “This is our Luhansk region, this is our south of Ukraine, this is our Crimea.”
Under international law it is undisputed that Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia belong to Ukraine. Russian Federation forces currently control about 120,000 to 130,000 square kilometers of 600,000 square kilometers of Ukraine – a land area the size of the two national territories of Austria and Switzerland combined.
