With their road blockades, “last generation” climate stickers irritate both Austrians and Germans almost every day. The police apparently have enough sticky tape and they are dealing with the self-appointed activists more harshly than they did a few weeks ago. Following the arrest of the last 29 members of the “Last Generation” – 17 are still in custody – three houses were now searched.
“This morning, the Passau Public Prosecutor’s Office searched three apartments in Passau, Rhineland-Palatinate and Austria,” complained Climate Chaos via Ax (formerly Twitter). And add: “Christian Bergman, Mika Frey and Mika’s parents were searched for alleged postering of very strong adhesive.”
Meanwhile, the “Last Generation” has announced massive and permanent protests in the German capital Berlin. “We will show Berlin we are there,” said Carla Heinrichs, one of the group’s speakers. And he added: “Hundreds of people will demonstrate. The group is bigger than ever.”
