Maurer explains in an interview with the APA, “There are no guarantees of anything in life, especially not in politics.” After all, there will still be many challenges and a lot of government work waiting for an alliance with the OVP.
On what she personally thinks about new elections: “There is no majority among the population for new elections,” Maurer said. However, it is “no secret that the OVP and the Greens are very different parties”. Nevertheless, they work together professionally and will also implement many projects – such as the recent rent ceiling.
But Maurer is certain of one point: that Vice Chancellor Werner Kögler will lead the Greens into the next election. “Of course” he’ll be the next top candidate too, because he’s doing a good job.
The Green politician has ruled out a return to the big political stage of Sebastian Kurz. Maurer said, “Our counterpart is Carl Nehmer, and I believe it will stay that way.”
