According to FAZ, the editor of the Frankfurt satirical magazine has been waiting for his money for two months. To prevent a final collapse at the last second, a rescue campaign has now been launched – with the aim of securing 5,000 new subscriptions by the end of the year.
FAZ editor Oliver Maria Schmidt said circulation is now only 15,000 copies, and paper and printing costs have tripled. Currently minus 20,000 euros per month.
In Austria, the satirical magazine “Sorry”, founded in 1979 by former employees of the satirical magazine “Sorry”, has been known since November 2017 at the latest. The cover of ex-Chancellor Sebastian Kurz caused much excitement and much outrage – the headline at the time: “Austria on Crash-Kurz: Baby Hitler gets his driver’s license!”
