From 2030, the traditional name Seat will only be found on electric scooters with the famous S logo. The move was announced by Thomas Schaefer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Board of Directors of VW, at the International Motor Show in Munich.
The main reason for this drastic step is the image problem that Seat is facing. Schaefer says the young Kapra brand sold better in the international market. VW boss Schaefer told British business magazine “Autocar” that they could not invest in both brands. Cupra was the fastest growing car brand in Europe in 2022.
