First lady Jill Biden tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday, the White House announced. In a statement, Biden’s spokesperson said: “This evening the First Lady tested positive for COVID-19. He is currently suffering from mild symptoms. “She will remain at her home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.”
US President Joe Biden (80) was also immediately tested – but negative.
Last summer, Jill Biden, like her husband, contracted the coronavirus after vacationing in South Carolina.
According to CNN, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in July that anyone who meets the president would be tested for COVID-19 before the meeting: “We have testing protocols in place if anyone meets the president . So I can tell you that everybody who meets the President is actually tested. I am being tested. We will do everything.
US President Joe Biden plans to travel to India this week for the G20 summit and then stop in Vietnam.
