The panoramic view from the café of the Danube Tower at a height of 160 meters has recently gained national importance again. “Dune Luft”, a strong episode of “Soko Donau”, about a hostage situation, was filmed here and aired in July.
But now the shooting location of the film has stopped. The turning mechanism of Panorama Cafe has been broken since the strong storm that hit three weeks ago. The gearbox was damaged and attempts to repair it apparently failed. Even worse: “Due to the age of our systems, specific replacement parts are no longer available.” But they are already in the process of “planning and implementing a new technology drive”, it is now on TermCafé’s homepage.
According to the operators, the search for suitable offers, delivery times and the upcoming assembly of this special campaign “will take some time”. “It is important to us that you, as our guest, can enjoy this unique panoramic experience again in the future,” it says.
