SKN St. Pölten retained their position at the top of the Second Football League. On Friday evening, the Lower Austrians won 1–0 over bottom team SKU Amstetten and secured their fifth win in six games. As a result, the leader was able to pull three points away from the chasers GAK for at least a few hours, who still met SV Reed at home. The third FC Admira Sturm could not hold on to a 1–1 draw against Graz’s second team.
FAC IX moved up to fourth place with a 3–1 win against FC Liefering. Vienna overtook the league newcomers with a 1–0 win against SV Stripfing and are now in eighth place.
