The reference to the young racer came anonymously. Around 3 am, a caller informed the police about the boy. When the patrol arrived at designated Center West, police observed a suspicious vehicle, but the driver was no longer there.
As was routine, the officials checked again an hour later to make sure all was well. This time the car came towards them, behind which was the young man. When the driver saw the police lights flashing, he increased the speed and started a rapid chase. A police spokesman said, “Partly he reached 180 km/h.”
He created an accident on Trieste Strasse. When two patrol vehicles tried to stop him on Pasiniagasse in Puntigam district, he reversed the car and hit an emergency vehicle.
