An interview with former President Donald Trump (77) by star moderator Tucker Carlson (formerly of “Fox News”) on the Republican side sparked a storm of excitement on Twitter (renamed: “X”). An “X” user delighted: “Best interview ever!”. Another user wrote: “Tucker Carlson’s Donald Trump interview on X is now the most watched interview in history…in just an hour!!!!!”
The interview was posted online five minutes before the televised debate aired on Fox News. Trump says he doesn’t mind sitting in a TV studio for hours with people who harass him on the one hand and who are totally unfit for the US presidency on the other. Furthermore, the station broadcasting the debates of the Republican presidential candidates was also “not particularly friendly to them”.
When Tucker Carlson asked whether the Democrats surrounding his political rival, i.e. President Joe Biden (80), could threaten his life, Trump said: “They are wild animals. These are the people who are sick. Really sick. There are great people in the Democratic Party, great people who are Democrats. But I’ve seen what they’re capable of, I’ve seen how far they can go.”
Several lawsuits are currently pending against Trump, among other things, he is accused of inciting his supporters after losing the 2020 presidential election, keywords election fraud, after which he stormed the Capitol (US) in Washington (January 6, 2021) Legislature) attacked. Five people died due to this.
