Listed Lower Austrian energy supplier Even significantly increased its consolidated income in the first three quarters of the 2022/23 financial year. Consolidated profit (earnings attributable to shareholders) rose 83.5 percent year-on-year to 419.1 million euros. Sales decreased by 1.3 percent to EUR 2.9 billion, operating result (EBIT) to EUR 359.2 million, an increase of 23.8 percent.
In view of these figures, the FPO is now demanding that the dividend be passed on to the end customers.
Reinhard Teufel, chairman of the Liberal Club in the Lower Austrian state parliament, insisted that “EVN’s profit of 419.1 million euros must be distributed to end customers.” And adds: “Record profits for energy companies mean record prices for end customers,” Teufel says.
The question also arises as to “why EVN is making record profits one after the other, but the end customers have nothing to do with it,” the politician said. “If EVEN is able to lower prices in South-Eastern Europe, it should be possible in their own country as well.”
