FPO leader Herbert Kickl compared the identitarian movement, classified as right-wing extremist by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, with NGOs such as “Greenpeace” and “Global 2000”, whose projects he will also personalize, at an ORF summer talk on Monday. Support in matters, for example in the fight against genetic engineering.
In this context, Kickal told the OVP: “If the citizen becomes uncomfortable, label him as a right-wing extremist.” To protect the constitution, the constitution has to be protected and not the “leftist pseudo-morality”.
Finally he phoned ORF journalist Susanne Schnabel: “If you are so interested in the identifiers and their program, invite one of these people.”
Christian Stocker, general secretary of the OVP, did not let the words of the FPO boss put him down. For Stocker, Kickl is “the greatest threat to the security of Austria”, who no longer tries to deny his radical nature.
Stocker criticizes: “Apparently he has a problem with the police and the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, which protects our democracy from extreme currents. A contrast to his time as interior minister, when he stated in the preface to a 2017 report on safeguarding the constitution that identitarians appear as one of the main vehicles of modern right-wing extremism. Apparently, the Blue Chairman has become so radicalized that he no longer sees the identities as the threat they actually pose.
And Kickal seems clueless on other issues as well: He promises things that already exist, like nursing teaching, which is already on the way, and Pure over Gross, where he’s clearly “cold.” does not understand the word ‘progress’, although he has been in politics for 28 years. One thing is certain: Kickal is both the system and the elite – nothing more is possible, ”says Stocker.
