Hasan Salihamidzic’s contract with Bayern has been officially terminated. The people of Munich and the former sporting director have agreed to dissolve the working paper, which is valid until 2026. This is reported by “Bild” on Sunday. When asked, the chairman of the supervisory board of the German record champions, Herbert Hainer, confirmed: “We have mutually terminated the contract with Hasan Salihamidzic. As at the season finale in Cologne and our championship celebrations, everything went very smoothly during these talks. Hasen has achieved a lot with FC Bayern and won the biggest titles, both as a player and as a sports director and sporting director.”
Hainer also emphasized that Salihamidzic will always remain a part of FC Bayern. The Chairman of the Supervisory Board first negotiated an amicable separation from Oliver Kahn. The contract of the former CEO will expire on December 31, 2024.
Salihamidzic was presented as the new sporting director on 1 August 2017. Since July 1, 2020, he has served as the sports director. Bayern became treble winners in 2020 during his tenure. At that time Munich had won the championship, the cup and the Champions League. This also includes victories in the Club World Cup and the Supercup. Overall, under Salihamidzic, Bayern won the championship six times, the DFB Cup twice and the German Supercup five times.
But on 27 May club officials at Bayern Munich decided to part ways with the former Bayern player after a tumultuous season. Nevertheless, the contract extension, which had already been decided, came into effect on July 1, 2023. Now both the parties can agree. The details of severance pay are not available. Salihamidzic himself is currently on leave.
