Styria state police said in a broadcast on Saturday that explosives detonated two vehicles in southern Styria on Friday evening, but no one was injured. An unidentified person planted the explosive device while the owner of the vehicle was at a prayer meeting organized by the Jehovah’s Witnesses faith group. Whether there is a connection is still being investigated.
The State Office for Protecting the Constitution and Combating Terrorism (LVT) has already constituted its own investigation team. Criminologists from the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) in Styria, the police and explosives experts from the Defuse Service also conducted the investigation. On Saturday, it was said that work on the crime scene and securing of evidence was done during the night.
