A week earlier, a Liberian man (41) attacked his ex-wife (39) with a hammer in Vienna-Lissing, injuring her. Since then he is on the run with his son Danny (5). The dead child was discovered on Sunday in Neue Donau in Floridsdorf, and on Monday police reported finding another body in the river. This is believed to be Denny’s father.
As reported, the man from West Africa appeared in front of the ex-wife’s block of flats on Sunday evening last week. But instead of dropping the boy home after the weekend trip as agreed, he came alone. He took out first an empty gun, then a machinist’s hammer. Due to this he attacked the boy’s mother. She was injured, but not life-threatening.
The Liberian man fled, leaving his guns at the scene. A post-mortem examination of the body should clarify whether son Denny was still alive at this time. For the time being it is more likely that the father took his child with him to the Danube and thus died.
The dispute with the mother was over the father’s visitation rights, which had threatened the family in the past. Coming to them and going inside was already banned.
