A man extinguishes his car with beer after a car fire broke out on the BAB 19 motorway in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. According to the police, the car caught fire on Saturday afternoon due to a technical fault in the engine area. The man immediately stopped on the breakdown lane. While his wife and two children were unharmed, he removed a crate of beer from the trunk in addition to the luggage and “immediately commenced first extinguishing measures”.
According to the police, the fire was extinguished after eight bottles of beer. The arriving fire brigade disconnected the vehicle’s battery to be safe and prevent the leakage of environmentally harmful liquids. According to the police, the car was completely damaged. However, damage was prevented by immediately dousing the road surface of the motorway with barley juice.
