A tragic traffic accident occurred on Friday afternoon in the area of the Gleisdorf-West motorway exit. A motorcyclist collided with a car while overtaking, the biker died at the scene of the accident despite emergency services arriving quickly.
On Friday afternoon there was a serious traffic accident in the crossing area at the Autobahn exit Gleisdorf-West (district of Weiz). A 28-year-old East Styrian drove his car off the autobahn and wanted to turn left at the next intersection in the direction of the Ludersdorf roundabout. At the same time, a 42-year-old from the Weiz district was driving his motorcycle from the Ludersdorf roundabout on the B65 in the direction of Gleisdorf. According to witnesses, he overtook several cars driving in front of him. When the car driver turned onto the B65, the motorcyclist crashed into the side of the car. Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services and doctors who happened to be present, there was no rescue for the biker, he succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver of the car was taken to the LKH Weiz by the rescue service with minor injuries, where he received outpatient treatment.
