A 71-year-old entrepreneur from Slovenia left the Seebergstraße (B82) with his semitrailer near Miklauzhof on Friday morning and fell onto the steep embankment of the Vellach river. The man was seriously injured.
The entrepreneur was traveling between Bad Eisenkappel and Miklauzhof on the Seebergstraße (B82) with his truck and an unloaded semi-trailer at around 8.35 a.m. when he left the road on the right in Rechberg, broke through the metal railings attached to the embankment wall and fell over the three meter high embankment wall . The semi-trailer truck overturned in a row, luckily was intercepted by the trees and came to a standstill on the right-hand side of the vehicle just before the Vellach River flown to UKH Klagenfurt. As a precaution, the fire brigades of Rechberg, Miklauzhof, Bad Eisenkappel, Peratschitzen and Völkermarkt had to set up an oil barrier across the Vellach and suck out the fuel from the tank and the hydraulic oil. Only then could the trailer be salvaged. The fire brigades were only able to return eight hours later.
