Pack of wolves wiped out within a week
The experience of the Apennine region of Abruzzo also shows that living together with large carnivores in central Italy is not always easy. Nine wolves were found dead by rangers last week in the province of L’Aquila, not far from the Abruzzo National Park. The animals are said to have been killed with pieces of poisoned meat found in the area’s forests. As confirmed by the national park, an entire wolf pack living in the area was wiped out within a week. The causes of death are now being examined by experts.
