Criminals stole jewelry and watches worth 200,000 euros in four minutes from a shopping center in Haid (Upper Austria). The jeweler concerned assumes that the perpetrators were professionals.
The alarm went off at 2:25 a.m. on Wednesday. At this point, crooks broke into Ludwig Hochstöger’s jewelry store in the Haid shopping center. The senior boss: “It was a gang. The perpetrators cut open the scissor lattice and forced it open, cleared out all the showcases and stuffed the loot into two sacks.” The crooks are targeting high quality Rado watches. Dummies, i.e. fake goods, simply left them lying around. The crooks knew exactly what they wanted. They also brutally broke open the display case with the diamond jewellery.” Escape with e-scooters When several police patrols arrived, the two perpetrators each fled with an e-scooter. A nocturnal hunt began. But the immediately initiated search with several police patrols, two service dog patrols and the rapid intervention group (SIG) unfortunately had a negative result. A police officer would have caught one of the crooks by a hair’s breadth, but he didn’t succeed and the officer was accordingly annoyed. Two backpacks and an e-scooter were seized in the immediate vicinity. It is being determined at full speed.
