After losing the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA playoffs, basketball superstar LeBron James is apparently thinking about retiring.
James was once again Los Angeles’ top shooter – this time with 40 points and 10 rebounds. In the end, the superstar missed a throw to equalize again. After the game, James left room for speculation when asked about his future. “At this point in my career, I only play to win trophies. I don’t get a kick when I’m in the conference finals. I was already there. Often. It’s not fun for me if I’m not part of getting to the finals,” said the 38-year-old. Now he has to think about it. “As for me personally, there’s a lot to think about about basketball.” James signed a new contract with the Lakers last fall, which is valid until the 2024/25 season if he takes the option. In the past he has expressed several times that he would like to play on an NBA team with his eldest son. LeBron James Jr., known as Bronny, will play in college for the University of Southern California next season and won’t be in the NBA until the 2024/25 season at the earliest.
