In Horitschon, the new police station has now officially been put into operation. The rayon comprises eight communities with around 10,000 inhabitants.
Large train station in Horitschon: Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP), Provincial Councilor Heinrich Dorner (SPÖ), State Police Director Martin Huber and Mayor Gerhard Peschowitsch (SPÖ) opened the base. The new building was necessary to ensure accessibility in the entrance area. Now there is a guideline-compliant entrance and airlock area. The total usable area of the police station is 256.77 square meters. Twelve civil servants are on duty here together with commander Georg Schedl. Desire for more personnel Landesrat Dorner thanked Minister of the Interior Karner for making the new building possible, but also expressed the desire for sufficient personnel: “Central Burgenland in particular has been massively affected by trafficking crime in recent years .” Karner agreed with him that “we need more interested people for the police academy in order to be prepared for the important challenges in the future.
