“Suddenly a dull rumble filled the room, as if the men from the garbage disposal were rolling the big iron garbage cans up the stairwell,” recalls a Wiener Neustadt resident. But stop! It’s Sunday, so it can’t be the garbage disposal, the then five-year-old boy thought: “Immediately all the lamps wobbled, the glasses rattled in the cupboard, the floor moved underfoot.”
