Luckily, an incident at Innsbruck Airport on Monday ended relatively lightly. A glider had run into trouble on takeoff and crashed to the ground from a low altitude. The pilot was injured.
At around 1:50 p.m., the incident happened with the glider pilot, who fell onto the runway from a height of five to ten meters for reasons that are not yet known. The 54-year-old pilot (Austrian citizen) suffered serious injuries in the area of the back. After the surveys have been completed, reports are sent to the responsible authorities. Air traffic at Innsbruck Airport was not restricted.
