The climbing tour ended in the hospital for a mountain rescuer (31) in Maurach in the Tyrolean district of Schwaz. The man was traveling with his wife (30). Suddenly he lost his footing and fell onto the safety rope.
The couple are trained mountain rescuers. In Maurach they climbed the Abkasern route with difficulty 6b in the Klobenjoch climbing area. The 31-year-old climbed the second pitch and had about the tenth intermediate belay hooked in. “He lost his footing and fell into the safety rope,” according to the police. Taken to the valley with a material cable car. The Tyrolean suffered a shoulder dislocation in the fall, whereby he repositioned the shoulder himself. As a result, the couple was able to rappel down. However, due to the severe pain, a further descent was no longer possible. Transport down to the valley with the Dalfazalm cable car was organised. The mountain rescuer then went to Kufstein Hospital.
