The provision of fast internet is becoming increasingly important – both at home and at work. The new version of the broadband atlas is intended to provide more transparency here: With just a few clicks, details on the Internet supply via the fixed network or mobile communications are available, the Ministry of Finance announced in a broadcast on Sunday.
Information from the infrastructure providers on the availability of broadband networks is made publicly available on the basis of maps at broadbandatlas.gv.at. In addition to showing the current fixed and mobile broadband availability, the broadband atlas also shows those areas in which subsidized expansion is taking place. You can enter the address in the search field and find out which network provider offers which technology with which download or upload speeds. “With just a few clicks you can find out how the stationary and mobile Internet supply is at home or in operation and which provider offers which technology at what speed offers. This is essential information and a useful service for citizens when moving or looking for the best Internet or mobile phone provider,” said State Secretary Florian Tursky according to the broadcast. “The expansion of broadband is crucial to making our business location attractive . Fast internet is important both for our businesses and for everyday life,” said Finance Minister Magnus Brunner.
