The race for the 2024 US presidential election is taking shape. Ex-President Donald Trump is back, and not just on Facebook, where he has been posting again since Friday. Trump has also started his campaign tour. In a speech in the city of Davenport, Iowa, he already addressed the war in Ukraine with a clear statement.
If he does not return to the White House in the coming year, there is a risk of a third world war, Trump warned. “I am the only candidate who can make this promise: I will prevent World War III because I truly believe that we will have World War III.” At the same time, Trump accused President Joe Biden of leading the country into a nuclear war, which could possibly mean the end of the world.
Donald Trump has called the current geopolitical turmoil the “most dangerous time” for the US and the world and said President Biden has “steered Russia straight into the arms of China”. The nation is facing an extremely difficult time. Americans are “in an epic fight to save our country from the people who hate it and want absolutely to destroy it.”
In front of an enthusiastic audience, Trump called out to the crowd that with him in power, the war would quickly end. He also mentioned his supposedly good relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Shortly after I win the presidency, I will end the disastrous war between Russia and Ukraine,” Trump said, according to Newsweek. “It will take 24 hours if it’s not done by then.”
Trump’s speech at the campaign event in Davenport lasted around 100 minutes.
