Do such actions really solve the climate problem? At the Juno Awards in Edmonton, Canada, a climate activist suddenly stormed the stage topless, disrupting a performance by “Complicated” singer Avril Lavigne (38.70 million records sold). To read on her back: “Save the green belt” – “Protect the green belt”.
According to the New York Post, Avril Lavigne was about to announce singer AP Dhillon when the topless protester, wearing pink pants and a pink headscarf, took the stage. At first the musician tried to ignore the half-naked climate activist, but then she turned around and told her, laughing but in quite clear words, that she should leave the stage – “Get the fuck off, bitch!” Then the protester became taken away by a security guard. It is not known whether the disruptive action will have consequences for them.
