Saudi Arabia apparently wants to become more and more the center of attention in the Arab world. The country has not only opened up to tourism, it also wants to build the tallest building in the world and thus overtake Dubai here as well. Air traffic plans are also ambitious. Saudia and Riyadh have ordered 121 Dreamliners from Boeing. With this fleet, Saudi Arabia wants to transport around 330 million guests by 2030, as “aerotelegraph” reports. Many of them are to be brought into the country.
If the Saudi authorities have their way, then 100 million visitors per year should be lured to Saudi Arabia, which is relatively virgin in terms of tourism. The landscape, including beaches, deserts, oases and mountains would give it – just because of politics, travelers are currently still rather cautious. Irrespective of this, the foundation stone was already laid with this mega order for Boeing. It should not fail because of flight connections, because they are to be expanded to 100 destinations around the world.
