The Swiss Greens are calling for the nuclear power plants to be switched off by 2037 – and this is obviously biting on granite with the citizens. 64 percent are clearly against this proposal. This is the result of a survey carried out by the Sotomo research institute on behalf of “Blick”. What’s more: 56 percent of those surveyed spoke out in favor of the rapid construction of new nuclear power plants in order to secure the power supply.

In addition, 46 percent supported state aid for nuclear power plant operators. 55 percent ascribe an important function to nuclear power in eliminating the electricity bottlenecks. Interesting: The resistance to nuclear power plant shutdowns is high among young people between the ages of 18 and 25: 60 percent are against it.
