Apparently, nothing has been learned in China from the last three years in terms of the ineffectiveness of lockdowns. Because they are debating flu lockdowns there. There are also discussions about this in the United States.
In recent months and years it has become increasingly clear that all the lockdown measures during the so-called corona pandemic were not just completely excessive, but also caused more harm than good. But despite the fact that such measures are practically completely useless for respiratory viruses, lockdowns to slow down the flu during the influenza waves are now also being discussed. The British Daily Mail reports:
The city of Xi’an, in central China’s Shaanxi Province, has announced that it can take lockdown measures “if necessary” in an outbreak of the common flu virus that poses a “serious threat”. The city’s contingency plan, released Wednesday, aims to combat the country’s rising number of flu cases as COVID-19 cases continue to fall.

But it is not only in China that such measures are being considered. In the United States, too, people seem to be thinking about it. This is also the case in an article in the Washington Post in which the author, Joel Achenbach, sets the mood for lockdowns. He writes: “By delaying the natural spread of the virus, an immeasurable number of lives may have been saved. This gave doctors more time to develop techniques and medicines to treat patients during the brutal era before vaccines could reduce mortality.”
Apart from the fact that, for example, the data from the individual states in the United States (but also, for example, Sweden in an international comparison) shows that the lockdown measures actually made no difference, the author also makes a gross misjudgment with regard to the effectiveness of the experimental Covid Vaccine.
The danger of further senseless lockdowns for flimsy reasons is far from over. There are still far too many supporters of such measures among the “elites” and “opinion makers” who are reluctant to accept the scientific evidence of the past three years.
