Cheering in the Lower Austrian capital: SKN St. Pölten is the new leader after the 19th round of the second football league. The “Wolves” scored a 2-0 win at Young Violets Austria Vienna on Friday evening and passed Blau-Weiss Linz. The Upper Austrians are only behind with equal points because of the worse direct comparison, for them a winning streak at SV Lafnitz (1:1) ended. SV Horn slipped to third place after a 3-1 loss at FC Liefering.
Amstetten improved to sixth place with a 1-0 home win against FAC, who had dropped back to eighth place. There was no winner at 1:1 in the “basement duel” of table 14.
