According to a media report, Germany is supplying Leopard tanks to Ukraine. The decision was made, reported the “Spiegel” without citing sources on Tuesday. According to information from the magazine, it is about at least one company of Leopard 2A6. A company consists of 14 pieces. Today at 8:15 p.m. on eXXpressTV, Colonel Bernhard Sandtner analyzes what these tanks can change about the situation in Ukraine.
Other allies also wanted to deliver Leopard-2 battle tanks to Ukraine. Earlier reports came from the US that US President Joe Biden is now considering the delivery of M1 Abrams tanks.
The German government wants to grant permission to export Leopard tanks owned by other countries. A government spokesman declined to comment on the information. Earlier, the German government said it would quickly decide on Poland’s application to deliver Leopard to Ukraine. Since the Leopard is German-made, approval from Berlin is required before Poland can hand over its tanks to Ukraine.
With the delivery, Olaf Scholz & Co. are against the will of the majority. According to a survey by the opinion research institute YouGov, 43 percent of respondents are against and only 39 percent in favor of Germany sending battle tanks to Ukraine (eXXpress reported).
