After the bloodthirsty attack on two schoolgirls in Illerkirchberg, Baden-Württemberg, by a “protection seeker” from Eritrea, in which one girl was killed and the other seriously injured, the excitement on the left is great: they see themselves again with massive criticism of their failed migration policy and despair noticeably. One of them openly calls for “shut up” and agitates against the political opposition on the back of the dead girl. This does not go down well with the citizens.
A comment by Andrea Waldner
A 14-year-old was killed, an asylum seeker from Eritrea was arrested as a suspect. Reactions to the horrific act have varied, but grief and sympathy seem to be secondary to the establishment.
For the police had the highest priority to point out “not to harbor any general suspicion against strangers, those seeking protection or asylum seekers or to encourage or support such suspicions”. Also Politician such as Baden-Württemberg’s Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) warn against “hasty conclusions” before the crime has been cleared up. What motive would please justify a killing for the Greens? Thomas Strobl (CDU), Minister of the Interior of Baden-Württemberg, promises that the facts will be fully clarified. Otherwise, the usual platitudes come from politics, including from Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD):
Only the AfD does not shy away from clear words. Alice Weidelthe leader of the AfD parliamentary group in the Bundestag, not only dares to criticize the government’s migration policy, but also demands consequences:
“The routinely unwound phrases of politicians of the governing parties after the bloody crime in Illerkirchberg are a mockery for all citizens who rightly fear for the life and limb of their children and families. The politicians in charge don’t just have to be ‘shocked’ or ‘dismayed’, they have to make the decisions necessary to protect citizens and ensure safety in public spaces.
To the Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser and State Interior Minister Thomas Strobl, this means specifically and unequivocally: Send rejected asylum seekers, illegal migrants, criminal immigrants and perpetrators back to their countries of origin consistently, promptly and without exception. Secure the borders and put an effective stop to illegal migration instead of sending out additional invitation signals with higher social benefits, excessive promises of stay and thrown in citizenships.
The continued loss of control in migration policy and the growing insecurity on the streets are directly related. Anyone who continues to deny this is playing with the already weakened public confidence in the functioning of state structures. Instead of hypocrisy and cheap reassurances, decisive action and a turning point in migration policy are now required.”
Of course, your statements did not go down well with the left, for whom only attitude and not truth counts – it can’t be what shouldn’t be. Bernd Riexinger, member of the Bundestag and former leader of the Left Party, sharply attacked the AfD in a tweet:
This comment brought him a proper Shitstorm. Rather, the question arises as to who is the brainchild of these politicians – after all, there can be no question of sympathy, especially among those on the left who desperately want to cover up the consequences of the mass migration they promote and demand. The truth – Weidel said nothing else – is not agitation. It only seems to shake Riexinger’s worldview in such a way that he reflexively has to swing the Nazi club. It has long been obvious that the failed migration policy of the traffic light government and its predecessors not only burdens the health and social system, but also causes internal security to erode, but is studiously ignored by politicians. The victims are the citizens – in this case two schoolgirls. Thilo Schneider has in his comment on Reitschuster.de drew the appropriate conclusion:
[L]d rather be insulted as a Nazi than one day having “the thoughts” of Nancy Faeser and her comrades with you as “relatives of the victims” for three minutes and 240 characters.
The guilty have to put up with criticism of the failure of politics and the system – whether they then swing the Nazi club is of no concern to the critics. The fact that bloodthirsty crimes like that in Illerkirchberg lead to anger among the population is simply because every sane citizen wants to prevent their loved ones from suffering a similar fate. So where is the sympathy greater – among those who call for measures to prevent further murders – or among those who want to put things into perspective, appease them and continue as before?
